so perfect we’re moved to be artists, or collectors, surely\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\t\t\t\t\t\twe’d like to paint it, capture it, even<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\t\t\t\t\t\tbring it to our lips to drink it in,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tbring it into our hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I remember us making love during that endless golden hour,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
waves of light rolling across the terrain of limbs and valleys,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\t\t\t\t\t\tcream sheets gathered in a fist, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\t\t\t\t\t\ta veil of golden hair,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twhen you came suddenly and sure<\/p>\n\n\n\n
sending me playfully forward into a mountain of pillows. You said, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I saw the light and<\/p>\n\n\n\n
it seemed then or never,” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
so urgent the light can be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
How fascinating, this light<\/p>\n\n\n\n
so precious as it rises, fades, clears, becomes obscured with seasons and doubt, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
as though we could ever lose it, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
as though it were not simply a matter of knowing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\t\t\t\tIs not Winter here another’s Summer? \t\t<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\t\t\t\tDon’t the celestial bodies dance for us in every hue, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
if we just remember?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So come my love,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
let us celebrate another moment on this mountain peak,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and, no matter the time,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
let us dance under a perfect field of falling stars,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
